Last Dinosaurs Release New Single ‘Wurl’ and ‘Wellness’ Album

The days are getting longer, the nights are getting warmer and Last Dinosaurs celebrate the onset of summer by sharing new single ‘Wurl’, the third official single to be lifted from their recently released, second studio album ‘Wellness’. Last Dinosaurs also announce live dates for the upcoming festive season including Beyond The Valley Festival as well as support for brit-pop trio, The Wombats for their one and only Australian headline show.

‘Wurl’, described by Howl & Echoes as “an irresistible sonic journey” is beautifully sun-drenched track, filled with swirling guitars and catchy rapid drum beats which transports the listener to an otherworldly, dream-like atmosphere. Singer and guitarist Sean Caskey says of the track “Wurl was written when we were taking a break to write music in a remote Japanese town. When I came home I built my first guitar pedal and came up with the lead riffs while testing it out. The song is about coming to terms with losing someone close to you because at the time a family member was dying. So this is kind of a dedication to them.”

Last Dinosaurs second album ‘Wellness’ is a shimmering slice of indie guitar-pop which debut in the top 20 of the ARIA Album chart has already garnered a stack of incredible reviews with the likes of The Music declaring of the album “the Sunshine State’s indie pop rock four-piece are back with a slew of summer anthems… Last Dinosaurs’ second album journeys to a tropical soundscape soaked in their signature shimmering guitar riffs and melancholic vocals… Whether it catapults you into self-discovery or summertime, Last Dinosaurs’ second album will leave a lasting impression either way.”

First two singles ‘Evie’ and ‘Apollo’ have both received additions to the triple j playlist and Last Dinosaurs flourishing online presence has accumulated over 14.4 million streams.

Just last month the Brisbane indie guitar-pop four piece wrapped up their triple j supported national ‘Wellness’ album tour which saw the band travel across six states to headline some of the biggest venues of their career, including The Enmore Theatre in Sydney and The Corner in Melbourne plus played a headline slot to hometown fans at Brisbane’s Valley Fiesta.
