“Ecca Vandal managed to raise the bar and lift the roof off the place… She is a force to be reckoned with, between her fiery stage presence and genre-defying bangers. The crowd was probably the rowdiest this reviewer has ever seen at this venue, but they only mimicked the energy Vandal was radiating.” – The Music
Ecca Vandal continues her march to prominence today with the release of new single ‘Truth To Trade’, the latest single to be lifted from her tremendous debut EP End Of Time, available now via Dew Process / UMA.

Coming in at just under three blistering minutes, ‘Truth To Trade’ is Vandal at her explosive best, tapping into the raw punk rock energy that feeds so much of her eclectic sound. The song has already been declared by Music Feeds as “a high contender for the EP standout… (Truth To Trade) packs an absolute punch. The opening beat is reminiscent of the Space Invaders-era arcade games, but suddenly it retires to leave us glaring down the barrel of rich, fat guitar riffs ebbing beneath a borderline rapping Ecca, who positively howls through the chorus with maximum control”
The lyric video is cut together with scorching live footage from Vandal’s raucous recent headlines shows including a heaving crowd at a sold out Newtown Social Club.
Ecca Vandal says of the track “I was reading the graphic novel ‘V for Vendetta’ around the time I was writing this track. It all started with the pretty twisted beat at the beginning of the track, which got me dancing around the studio pretty much immediately. Kidnot and I shaped up the beat a little more together and then tracked guitars in the same day. Sonically there was a particular mood that linked back to the book I was reading so there is a loose tie between the lyrical concept of Truth To Trade and V for Vendetta.”
Ecca Vandal has just wrapped up her first triumphant lap of the country for her triple j supported national debut headline EP launch shows, playing frenzied and feverish sets to packed out audiences, with the likes of Sydney’s The Brag announcing her Newtown Social Club show as “Such a composed yet frenetic performance and dominant stage presence from an artist who’s just released her debut EP is a certain measure of what can only be big things ahead for Ecca Vandal.”
Those shows simply added to the mounting reputation she has as a superb live performer, having previously wowed crowds opening for the likes of electro rock kings The Prodigy and Scottish Mercury Prize-winning trio Young Fathers. Now Ecca Vandal will be hitting the road again in April as lead support for Sydney hip hop artist Tuka.
