Armed with new EP "I Hope My City Loves Me Still", GUINEAFOWL is pleased to announce a run of shows that see him joining Perth rockers "Birds Of Tokyo" on tour this December. Guineafowl will first re-affirm his love of hometown Sydney, treating Bondi’s Beach Road Hotel to a show on November 6 before taking to the stage at Newtown Festival on November 10. He’s also hitting Brisbane and Byron in December with summer pop three-piece "Set Sail".
Hailed in by new single ‘Little Death (Make It Rain)’, the new EP bursts forth in a wall of shimmering synth and hook-laden guitars; serving up dark intimacies on a platter of gleaming pop. The single’s partnering VIDEO hints to the sophisticatedly vulnerable nature of the four-track offering; capturing revelations of nights gone by, the emotional collapse of romance and the contentment that partners grief on the heady ‘Heartbreak Highs’, co-written with Sydney producer Paul Mac.
Wrapped neatly in an apex of pop-noir, "I Hope My City Loves Me Still" follows on from breakthrough debut EP "Hello Anxiety" - a release that earned Guineafowl the highly-coveted SMAC Award for Best Sydney Song in 2011 with ‘In Our Circles’ and saw him embark on more than 240 shows in less than a year.
