MIKHAEL PASKALEV QUESTIONS “WHAT’S LIFE WITHOUT LOSERS”
Many ponder the meaning of life, but few do it while nestled in the naked bosom of a blonde Scandinavian. Oslo singer/songwriter Mikhael Paskalev is not your average; today revealing details of his forthcoming debut album What’s Life Without Losers - out Friday 7th March via Dew Process - and with it, perhaps the most censorable cover art of 2014.
After causing a stir Down Under (both geographically and biologically) with lead single ‘I Spy’, Paskalev will hand deliver "What’s Life Without Losers" in March when he lands for a handful of launch shows in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, alongside performances at Perth Festival and WOMADelaide. Combining shameless pop sensibilities and lo-fi scrappy spirit, "What’s Life Without Losers" will populate, invigorate and gyrate dance floors across the nation when Paskalev hits our shores.
The good news keeps coming for fans of the rockabilly rebel, with Paskalev alsounleashing second single ‘Jive Babe’; an infectious hand-jiving-anthem, inspired by Twin Peaks’ heroine-come-bad-ass Audrey Horne.
Shot in and around Bulgaria by Liverpool director Jack Whiteley, the ‘Jive Babe’ video takes a more sinister, Tarantino-esque turn than that of its visual predecessor (which saw Paskalev strip down to his Y-Fronts for ‘I Spy’); with Paskalev kidnapped, gagged and beaten by a devilish beauty... and somewhat enjoying it.
Featuring breakthrough hit ‘I Spy’, Mikhael Paskalev’s forthcoming debut album What’s Life Without Losers is released Friday 7th March via Dew Process, available to pre-order here. New single ‘Jive Babe’ is out now purchase here.
