Sydney duo No Device have beaten some stiff competition to take out the Whitley “Head, First, Down” remix competition. The track is now available for download FREE HERE.
The remix competition sparked huge interest within the music community, with the stems for the track downloaded over 600 times.
Whitley then had the huge task of listening to the entries, but picked the No Device mix as the clear winner.
For their troubles, the No Device guys have won a double pass to every single one of Dew Process’ artist shows in 2010.
No Device is Luke and Kurtis, a Sydney based duo that rose from the ashes of the rock outfit Erase.Release. Coming from very different musical backgrounds, the two first met in the design room of their workplace in 2006. Being stuck in the same room for a year they would barrage one another with their respective worlds of music; Luke with the electronic dance tunes and Kurtis with the Indie scene. When the band split in March 2009, they decided to soldier on as No Device.
No Device are currently working on their debut album, but have also turned out popular remixes for Dappled Cities, Lisa Mitchell and Washington. Find out more about them at www.myspace.com/nodeviceband
After a very busy end of 2009, Whitley is again preparing to hit the road for Laneway Festival, kicking off next Friday in Brisbane. He’s also working on a film clip for his next single “Killer”. Look out for it in early February.
“Head, First, Down” and “Killer” are both taken from Whitley’s critically-acclaimed album “Go Forth, Find Mammoth”, out now.
