Bonjour from Gossling in Paris. Gossling has joined up with Oh Mercy to perform a duet ‘La Minute de Silence’ the song is the first from an inspired new album “Melodie Francaise” to be released later in the year featuring Australian artists performing French songs.
There is no denying that Australians are enthralled with everything French and as a cultural project and challenge a group of Australian Musicians have decided to take on classic and contemporary French songs and present their own interpretations for the forthcoming album “Melodie Francaise”
Gossling's duet with Oh Mercy is leading the way, as the first single to be released from the album. They have taken on their own version of ‘La Minute de Silence’ a song about taking the moment of silence to contemplate lost love. ‘La Minute de Silence’ was premiered this week on Triple J’s ‘Richard Kingsmill’s Program’ and is currently available for streaming from French website Deezer.com until the album is released later in the year.
Yesterday Gossling and Alexander Gow (Oh Mercy) left for France to film the corresponding music video and to launch the single in Paris. This is an exceptional opportunity to showcase Australian artists’ overseas. A few of the other Australian musicians on the album are The Jezables, Thelma Plum, Lisa Mitchell and Dappled Cities.
