Jae Laffer To Release Debut Solo Album 'When The Iron Glows Red'  23 August 2013

Jae Laffer
, lead vocalist and esteemed songwriter of iconic Perth outfit The Panics, has ventured out on his own with debut solo album When The Iron Glows Red – out Friday, September 27th. The first fruits of this solo work were unveiled today, with vibrant new single ‘Leave A Light On’ premiering on Mess & Noise.  News of a National Tour only sweetens the reveal, seeing Jae joined by a full band and new tunes this October.

There may be safety in numbers, but for Jae there’s a certain freedom and spontaneity that comes with going at it alone. This is evident in ‘Leave A Light On’; leaping forth with a spread of Lennon-esque strings and classic pop hooks. The first single is partnered by an equally warm and nostalgic video, directed by Melbourne’s Twelfth House Films.

It seems fitting that the first taste of Jae’s solo work would go back to where it all started, with ‘Leave A Light On’ serving as the first track penned, and musical catalyst, for the new album. Laced with blue-collar anthems and odes to the common man, When The Iron Glows Red proves a worthy addition to Jae’s respected body of work that sees his mantel shine with an ARIA, J Award for Album of the Year and numerous WAMi’s.

And for fans of The Panics, the end is far from sight.  “The Panics are still very much together, but I saw this as an opportunity to take ideas and themes true to myself and see them from start to finish in one burst of inspiration, without looking up,” Jae says.

‘Leave A Light On’ will be released digitally-only on August 26th, 2013. The single is taken from Jae Laffer’s forthcoming solo debut album When The Iron Glows Red, out September 27th 2013 through Dew Process/Universal Music Australia.

Do you have any numbers on how much reeunve was lost in cosmetic surgery? This really makes the case if we can see the amount of dollars lost out-of-state is greater than the 6% cost. Though I believe this argument misconstrues the Laffer Curve. My understanding was that the curve represented the amount people will choose to work, more than the likelihood they will go to a competing market. Similar points with similar tax conclusions, but different theories with different tactical applications. Just want to be precise
