Having just landed in the country for his very first Australian tour, Mikhael Paskalev has unpacked ye olde proverbial suitcase and hand-delivered debut album “What’s Life Without Losers” - out today via Dew Process. Make no mistake - this is no blushing debutante, but a ball-busting, jock-sporting, hand-jiving introduction to one of Norway’s brightest stars.
“…whether cranking the electric or feathering the acoustic, Paskalev is an effervescent revelation.” – The Music
“…pop beats and acoustic wonders, with a smack of Norway to it.” – Yen
“An enchanting, summery collection of delicate pop from a star on the rise.” – Tone Deaf
After stopping by Perth Festival last week, Mikhael and his gang of merry men hit the stage at Brisbane’s Alhambra Lounge and Sydney’s Oxford Art Factory - both ceremoniously sweaty affairs, attracting capacity crowds (and then some). He’s in Melbourne tonight for a SOLD OUT show at Howler, followed by a spot on WOMADelaide this weekend.
Armed with nothing more than his trusty Y-Fronts and some of the best legs in the business, Mikhael burst on to the scene with breakthrough hit ‘I Spy’ (watch the video HERE); a devastating one-two punch when paired with new single ‘Jive Babe’. The album “What’s Life Without Losers” carries on in the same spectacular fashion; shamelessly catchy and utterly winsome, but never straying far from the raw and raucous soundscape Mikhael and producer Joe Wills have created.
Having just released the first teaser 'Crazy' taken from the band's forthcoming debut LP due out mid-2015, Brisbane's Art of Sleeping announce an east coast tour of the same name. Shortly after their scheduled performances on some of the countries biggest stages over the New Year at Falls Festival, the band are set to take the stage in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this Summer.
Bernard Fanning offers up ‘GROW AROUND YOU’ lifted from his latest #1 album Departures. Berneard and his band will be stopping by the Fotty Show AFL Grand Final show on Thursday 26th September for a special televised headline-performance.
Returning in a wall of shimmering synth and hook-laden guitars, Guineafowl delivers a partnering video for new single ‘Little Death (Make It Rain)’ and announces details of a special EP launch night taking over Sydney’s Club 77 on Thursday 10th October
