Dew Process is very pleased to announce the addition of Mumford & Sons to the label.
Their bluegrass folk’n’roll has had UK critics and fans salivating after tasting the small morsels of their three EPs, ‘Mumford & Sons’, ‘Love Your Ground’ and ‘The Cave and The Open Sea’.
Mumford & Sons will satisfy appetites with the release of their debut long-player, ‘Sigh No More’ on October 16th, 2009 on their own label Gentlemen Of The Road through Dew Process. Recorded by Markus Dravs (Arcade Fire, Bjork) in the legendary Eastcote Studios (Arctic Monkeys, Brian Eno, Laura Marling), the album was laid down on the vintage equipment the studio is famous for. Dravs sought to bring out the band’s already powerful musical personality, honing their most jubilant and melancholic moments and making them more evocative.
Since forming in December 2007, the four staunch friends – Marcus Mumford, Country Winston, Ben Lovett and Ted Dwane – have brought honest, emotional songwriting to the forefront. Their tales of romance, fucking up and finding your way have an intimacy that is backed up as intently with their impassioned playing.
First single, ‘Little Lion Man’ was named “Hottest Record in The World Today” by Radio 1’s Zane Lowe. The heart-wrenching track about heartbreak and regret is just the first bite of what’s to come.
‘Little Lion Man’ is released digitally on October 2nd, 2009. ‘Sigh No More’ is due out on October 16th, 2009 through Gentlemen of the Road/Dew Process.
