Dew Process is pleased to announce Sydney’s Guineafowl as the latest string to the label’s bow, with ethereal single “In Our Circles” as a hint of what’s to come. Buoyed with a fresh spirit and a gentle urgency, the kids really will dance dance dance dance dance dance. Listen to it now on the player below.
If that's not enough, the band are also offering a free download of "Botanist" when you join their mailing list!
Guineafowl is the core member of the group who, after playing in numerous bands around Sydney, felt he had his own things to say. He created some ideas with his laptop and its inbuilt microphone as the only humble recording devices. Rich in invention and imagination, the scope of what was created blew up quickly as old musical acquaintances were drawn to the home-recorded tracks.
Although the group’s inception was a mere year ago, Guineafowl are no strangers to their hometown’s scene, forming a large fanbase through their Oxford Art Factory residency earlier this year. Live favourite ‘Botantist’ also turned a few heads with it’s wall-falling clip landing them a spot in Rage’s inaugural top fifty countdown – rage’s FIFTY.
‘In Our Circles’ is the first gem from Guineafowl’s chest of treasures, more of which will be coming your way in the following months.
Bernard Fanning offers up ‘GROW AROUND YOU’ lifted from his latest #1 album Departures. Berneard and his band will be stopping by the Fotty Show AFL Grand Final show on Thursday 26th September for a special televised headline-performance.
Returning in a wall of shimmering synth and hook-laden guitars, Guineafowl delivers a partnering video for new single ‘Little Death (Make It Rain)’ and announces details of a special EP launch night taking over Sydney’s Club 77 on Thursday 10th October
