London-based electronic duo Oh Wonder release ‘Lose It’, the latest instalment for Australian fans from their debut release project which sees them write, record and release one track per month, for twelve months, cumulating in the release of their debut album via Dew Process / UMA September 4, 2015.
Since the release of their first track, ‘Body Gold’ in September of 2014, Oh Wonder have become a global, indie sensation. To date, each of the ten released tracks have topped the Hype Machine charts and collectively garnered over 23.5 million streams.
Oh Wonder are Anthony and Josephine, admirers of the art of composing a song, they wanted to shine light on each of their 13 album tracks; have each one stand-alone and be heard in its own right. This innovative approach to releasing music, with its disregard for the typical album campaign, has attracted astonishing interest from an international audience who eagerly await each month’s song.
‘Lose It’ with its sentimental, captivating vocals and subtle, complex instrumentation, was inspired by a recent holiday to Australia, “We wrote ‘Lose It’ about the climax of a house party that we attended in the suburbs of Melbourne. It was the most absurdly energising night of our lives and will stick with us forever – staying up until the sunrise, dancing without a care on the other side of the world.”
Oh Wonder’s breakout success has cemented their reputation as ‘Artists To Watch 2015’ with BBC Radio 1 host Zane Lowe listing ‘Lose It’ as ‘Next Hype’. British Press The Guardian awarded them the influential New Band Of The Week accolade and the likes of DIY Magazine proclaiming of the song “Slick to the extreme, and backed with booming piano lines and organic instrumentation, this is pop done right.”
Oh Wonder are scheduled to make their live performance debut with upcoming sold out shows in London, Paris, Los Angeles and New York. Due to overwhelming demand the duo have just added second shows for London, Los Angeles and New York, with the second night at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts selling out in less than twelve hours!
