In 2019, Tyne-James Organ released his debut EP, Persevere, spearheaded by the barnstorming single ‘Something New.’ By now Organ had grown from the surfer-songwriter from the NSW South Coast, into a fully-formed frontman with swagger, a voice as powerful in its deeper register as its highest falsetto, and three songs that had burned bright in high rotation on national radio for 18 months. That all culminated in a massive Splendour In The Grass festival set that featured a packed tent of fans singing back at him in full force in a truly triumphant moment. Not one to rest on his laurels though, Organ knew that to satisfy himself as an artist he needed to reach deep and into new territories.
Recorded throughout 2020 at producer Chris Collins’ lush Stokers Siding studio, Tyne-James Organ’s debut album Necessary Evil is out now. The record is a pure representation of Tyne-James Organ and the songs he penned for the largest chapter of his songwriting career to date. They represent a vast array of emotions and dynamics – triumphant and jubilant one moment, introspective and tender the next. He deals with grief and pain, power and passion – sometimes open and raw with bare bones acoustics, other times with undeniable swagger via chugging guitar riffs and a swing for the fences approach that only comes from letting it all go and letting the music speak for itself.
